We are proud to have Macy’s as a long-standing partner and repeat client of W.E. O’Neil for over 20 years. Our team has provided renovations, build-outs, and new construction upgrades to Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s department stores across Illinois, California, and Colorado.
Our projects for Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s stores total 748,000+ SF of retail space, ranging from small renovations to new construction of high-end outlet brands within full-line department stores.
Macy’s State Street Mall (Chicago, IL): Renovation of the historic Marshall Field and Company building • Consolidation of floors 8-14 into lower floors • Full cosmetic renovation of floors 8-14 • New office spaces • Work was performed throughout the two million SF space • Build-out of new Starbucks Coffee within the store
Macy’s Northbrook Court (Northbrook, IL): Demolition of existing Macy’s store • Demolition of existing Macy’s store • 17-acre site • Complete demolition including removal of all building foundations • Additional selective demolition and renovation in the existing mall
Macy’s Water Tower Place (Chicago, IL): Phased upgrading and expansion of 30,000 SF ground floor and mezzanine • Replacement of flooring and glass handrails throughout the main sales floor
Macy’s Oakbrook (Chicago, IL): 197,000 SF • Cosmetic renovation and remodel of existing Macy’s store
Bloomingdale’s Renovation (Chicago, IL): 60,000 SF renovation inside the 900 N. Michigan shopping center • 39 high-end vendor shop build-outs including Prada, Chanel, etc. • Full renovation of first and third floors • Dressing room renovations for ADA compliance
Bloomingdale’s Home Store (Oakbrook, IL): 90,000 SF • Renovation of the existing department store into Bloomingdale’s Home Store
Bloomingdale’s Home Store at Medinah Temple (Chicago, IL) : 131,000 SF build-out of new retail store • Redevelopment of Historic Medinah Temple • Complete demolition and rebuilding of the interior while maintaining the exterior landmark façade • Three new structural steel and metal deck floors were constructed inside the existing building shell • High-end interior finishes
