New construction of a 500,000 SF 13-story concrete parking structure and childcare center for Northwestern Medicine. The building is home to the Bernice E. Lavin Early Childhood Education Center on the first and second floors, with 1,118 parking spaces on floors three through thirteen, providing parking for a portion of Northwestern Medicine’s main campus downtown Chicago.
The structure’s exterior is comprised of precast concrete, and features a green roof. The childcare center features an interior landscaped playground and early education areas for art and science.
This LEED Silver project was completed at a dense downtown site on an operating hospital campus. W.E. O’Neil self-performed the structural concrete for the project.
