Uptown Denver is the home of The Economist, an apartment complex characteristic of a new solution for big-city housing challenges. This complex provides an alternative housing option by increasing density and affordability.
Called micro-apartments, the 300-600 SF units provide stylish design and solid construction. Every square foot is optimized to achieve a beautiful, comfortable, and remarkably efficient living space.
The 50,000 SF Economist has 97 one-bedroom or studio units between its two five-story buildings. Its first and second floors are primarily structural concrete, and the third through fifth floors are traditional wood-framed construction. The two buildings have flat membrane roofs and cementitious siding.
With 12-foot ceilings, a light-maximizing color palette, and warm-toned concrete flooring, the apartments afford a high quality of living. Each private unit has living, sleeping, cooking, and laundry areas.
The Economist’s modern lobby with fireplace, tables, and cozy chairs, providing enticing social/communal workspace. Creative social spaces include a modern covered rooftop entertainment space, with a 14” post-tensioned podium concrete slab on the second floor. The patio provides residents with stunning views of the city and the Rocky Mountains.
