The 85,000 SF Sunrise Palo Alto project houses 81 assisted living units, including a dedicated, secure wing of dementia care units. The structure consisted of a post-tension concrete frame with one subterranean level and four levels above grade.
Located in a densely populated area of Palo Alto on a small site dominated by the building footprint, the property is situated near theatres, shopping, and dining.
The exterior skin of the building consists of varying construction materials, including a brick façade complemented by bands of precast concrete, metal and cementitious siding material, and conventional plaster. The scope also included retrofitting an adjacent traffic signal and construction of a new turning lane and driveway approach.
