With 30 years of comprehensive experience in construction, Mike Smith traversed a diverse career path from laborer and foreman to estimator, project manager, Vice President of Preconstruction, and currently serves as Vice President of our Northern California region.
Mike’s expertise lies in multifamily and mixed-use projects across Northern California, where he’s honed his skills as a decisive leader. He considers feasibility studies and peer reviews as fundamental pillars of success in project execution. Mike’s approach centers on fostering a team-centric environment, leveraging practical experience, and providing impactful oversight.
One of Mike’s core focuses is on developing and nurturing our people to drive sustainable growth and excellence within the organization.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys finding balance by spending time with family, listening to music, and cheering on the 49ers.
When I reflect on what it means to be a thoughtful leader, several things come to mind: developing a personal relationship with your team, leading differently for each individual and the team as a whole, serving the team to help everyone have success, and following through.
