The Colorado Springs Senior Center is a 23,000 SF, single-story building providing a space dedicated for the older population of the City of Colorado Springs. The project features a lounge with a demonstration kitchen, five classrooms, a multipurpose room, a fitness space, two health clinics, and a technology hub. A warming kitchen, staff work area, multiple restrooms, and storage space will keep the facility running behind the scenes.
W.E. O’Neil’s scope of work began with preconstruction and demolition of existing buildings on the site. In addition to the vertical construction, our team is providing parking, landscaping, site lighting, fencing, EV charging stations, walking paths, trash enclosure, and monument signs to round out the center’s property.
Since a portion of this project is Federally funded, our team is required to satisfy Davis Bacon Wages requirements. Additionally, the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) applies to this project, requiring that all iron and steel used in the project are produced in the United States, as well as other requirements for manufactured and construction materials.
