Design-Build
A design-build project for LACCD, the Los Angeles Southwest College Student Union will create a home-like atmosphere where students can collaborate and socialize.
30,000 SF of mixed-use space will accommodate students and staff with spaces for student dining and food services, social lounge and gaming spaces, study areas, and multipurpose event spaces. Additional programing spaces include a student lounge, student dining, the Associated Student Organization (ASO), servery and kitchen, café and student shop, and a large multipurpose room with warming kitchen, storage, and a balcony patio.
The building envelope is a two-story steel moment frame. Site work will include planted landscape surrounding the building, a large outdoor meeting and dining area, and replacing the adjoining fire lane parallel to the building.
With a commitment to sustainability, the Student Union is targeting LEED Silver Certification.
