This project for Nordstrom involved building a three-story full-line store in Norwalk, CT at SoNo Collection, a new shopping center being built concurrently.
The 140,000 SF store sits above a previously built parking garage, and was connected to the garage as well as the new shopping center. W.E. O’Neil worked with CallisonRTKL’s design team and the mall developer, Brookfield Properties, during the preconstruction phase to finalize details including MEP connections, structural separations, and architectural connections. The project was also built in phases in order to remain within podium space and logistical limitations on the limited-access site.
In line with Nordstrom’s latest design concepts, the store features high-end finishes, simple navigation, and natural light to connect the shopping experience to the outside world.
