The Phase 2 remodel and expansion for the Parker Yard (or Gailen D. Buck Service Center) updated and improved Douglas County’s Public Works vehicle maintenance service site. Its previous facility was outdated and inadequate to meet the needs of maintenance crews for many of the county’s districts.
The team constructed a 31,000 SF new operations building, a 9,400 SF new fleet support shop, and an 8,600 SF new equipment building. All three buildings have a structural steel framing system engineered for the project. The multi-purpose operations building serves as a storm shelter and dorm-style bunking quarters for maintenance crews. This building also houses 24 trucks with snowplows and includes administrative offices, a locker room, storage space, and a break area. All three buildings are pre-engineered metal and sit on 22 acres. Site work included paving, concrete, fencing, and lighting.
