Completed on a University campus in an urban setting with limited construction and staging areas, this phased renovation included 17,400 SF of an existing student center. After demolition of 3,400 SF of an existing structure, the team constructed a new 6,500 SF, two-story steel structure.
Deftly inserted into a cramped, high-traffic area with limited staging and laydown areas, the new space easily opens to the outdoors and connects seamlessly with nature.
Amenities of the space include a new general store and computer lounge where students can study or relax.
Additional work includes the interior renovation of 7,500 SF of space, site work, and cosmetic upgrades to the exterior. All work was completed while the facility remained fully occupied.
